Seinpaal Dune
Upon arrival by boat Terschelling looks different now. The seinpaal dune has undergone a metamorphosis in recent weeks. But it is in history the first time the landmark of the island of respect has changed.
More than sight
In recent weeks Forestry Staatsbosbeheer has removed on several places parts of the highly mature pine and storage of young trees. From the village you can see the dunes again and you have a view back from the dunes in all directions. This gives amazing images on the typical roofs of West Terschelling. From the highest dunes on top of the dune is now a view on the surroundings of the Noordsvaarder and over the dunes far into the North Sea.

Will you also joyously saw the first Swallow? Understandable! Barn swallows are the messengers of spring. Unfortunately it is not well with the Barn Swallow. Birds and BirdLife Netherlands SOVON research have therefore declared 2011 the Year of the Barn Swallow. In May and June censuses organized by the Gèskieker and visit Farm tours will be dominated by the Barn Swallow. An investigation is how many nests there are inhabited and that the farm attractive enough for the Barn Swallow.
